For the sheer recklessness of the character, it would have to be Sterling Archer. You know how you find a character that simply says or does all the things you wish you could do? That’s exactly what I find in Archer. He lives life solely for the pleasure of it and I would love to be around all that vibrancy and recklessness. Even if it’s just to be in the same proximity as his dangerous antics, that’s enough for me.
Then there’s his mind, from the random factoids to his calculative nature, it’s clear that while Archer has common sense, he refuses to use it and that somehow works out for him. It may be dumb luck, or some secret genius that keeps his character from completely self-destructing even after his many, many attempts to do so. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a massive hankering for death, I simply would love to be around that vibrancy, of course, without completely being sucked into his orbit of destruction.
If you’re in the mood for some high stakes espionage with a dose of raunchy humor, stream Archer on Netflix.
