I’ve been a Potterhead since the day I stumbled on The Philosopher’s Stone in my school library. I remember reading it in the back row during classes I should’ve been paying attention to (sorry, math), and just being totally swept away. Then came the movies, and watching that magical world unfold on my tiny TV screen made everything feel even more real. The Potterverse quickly became my favorite escape —part fantasy, part comfort blanket. I love how it blends wonder with just enough real-life grit to feel grounded, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the characters who feel like old friends now. And let’s be honest — Harry isn’t your usual chiseled action hero. He’s awkward, unsure, and a bit moody, which somehow makes him even more lovable.
Sure, the movies left out parts of the books (RIP Peeves), but what adaptation doesn’t take a few liberties? I still watch the series with the same wide-eyed wonder I had the first time I saw Privet Drive or rode along with Hagrid through Diagon Alley. Every scene feels like a trip back to a time when the world felt a little more magical. Maybe it sounds cheesy, but I’ll always be soft for Harry Potter. Some people rewatch comfort sitcoms — I rewatch wizard school drama.
What about you? Is there a book or movie series you love, no matter how many times you’ve seen it?
